My general area of study is climatology, particularly causes and impacts of climate change and variability. For my dissertation work, I will be combining traditional applied climate techniques with dendrochronology, the science that uses tree rings to analyze temporal and spatial patterns of processes. The aim of my dissertation project is to increase understanding of hydroclimatic variability in the Rocky Mountain West by conducting a multi-scale examination of an important climate transition zone that significantly impacts Western water supply.
