About Me
I am a doctoral student of Linguistic Anthropology with a minor in Cognitive Science at the University of Arizona. I am interested in how various modalities, such as spoken language and gesture can give us insight into a speaker's cognitive representation of the phenomenal world.
I am also interested in film (both producing and enjoying), technology, historical and contemporary Los Angeles, urban landscape, semiosis, Engrish (Hinglish, Chinglish, etc.), social memory and deixis. I am currently studying Ilocano and Tagalog. I am preparing for fieldwork in the Philippines where I hope to do dissertation research.
