Virus and hoax web sites

These are a few of my favourite sites for keeping track of recent virus warnings, as well as identifying hoaxes. You can use these links the next time someone sends you a virus warning to see whether or not it is bogus. Verify if a warning is legitimate before you forward it to all of your unsuspecting friends and email acquaintances! CCIT's Security Incidence Response Team has virus warnings and other useful information. Symantec Security Response lists real virus threats, as well as hoaxes and jokes. Finally, there's the Urban Legends page at About.com. This site has a lot of fun stuff, as well as info on virus hoaxes.
