How to Plan and Build a BBQ

Building a barbeque for your backyard can be a very rewarding experience.  If done right, it can be something your family can enjoy for years to come.  Planning what you want and how you can accomplish this project will be your first and most important task, be sure to have the correct power tools for the job!. 

Decide what you like by visiting barbeque stores, looking online, reading magazines and shopping your options.  Barbeques vary in price, style and functionality greatly.  A basic brick built in barbeque can be easy to plan and build yourself.  On the other hand, a more elaborate gas grill or even an outdoor kitchen set up, will require a great deal of planning and expertise in constructing.  Depending on what you want to accomplish, you may need to hire a professional Sacramento contractor and or a landscape engineer.

Decide what you want to accomplish and then divide the job into segments.  For example, if you want to have a built in gas barbeque, with an island bar, a built in refrigerator, maybe and oven/stove, and a nice stereo system, with a gazebo you probably want to list and plan each item individually.  This will give you the flexibility to do a cost analysis for each feature to see how important it is to your overall plan.  Also, you may want to do a great deal of this work yourself or with friends and family.  Many have found building these types of outdoor living areas are fun and rewarding to do as a “barbeque party”.
