Desai’s research has involved development and application of constitutive laws with design and fabrication of new and innovative test devices, and of computer (finite element) methods for solution of a wide range of problems in civil, mechanical and electronics engineering. Procedure (Residual Flow) for transient seepage, time integration schemes, models ( thin-layer) for interfaces and joints, and the unified Disturbed State Concept (DSC) for constitutive modeling, are among the new developments by Desai. The research results by Desai have been used in academia and practice.
