IMPORTANT
If you do not already have/use e-mail, besides the fact that
some may
characterize you as "prehistoric," it is required for this class to use it
regularly. Before January 22, 1997, send an e-mail to frantzis@u.arizona.edu
.This way I will have your e-mail address so we can communicate
electronically. If there is interest in class, we can create a WWW based
communication network, or, better yet, we can create an intranet(that
could easily expand to all CE student).
You should be student member of ASCE
National and
ASCE
Local. You can then
contact (e.g. call and 800 number or connect to the WWW site) ASCE and see
what they have to offer relevant to this class, i.e. video tapes, computer
programs, ... This way you will get experience in contacting your
professional society. Don't forget to ask about the ASCE resume databank
and if it is by now electronic. You write (optional) a small (1 page or
less) report on your "adventure" and you may get some extra credit (to be
discussed in class.)
