Chris Hamel, M.A.

My name is Chris Hamel, and I work at the University of Arizona as the Writing Skills Coordinator for the SALT Center for Learning Disabilities. 

I hope to create a space here to share my professional interests. For right now, if you have any interest in college level students with learning disabilities and their writing issues, link to the SALT page and its writing services section. 

If you're interested in learning about pedagogical issues related to students with disabilities, check out the Program to Enhance and Ensure Learning (PEEL) for Students with Disabilities. PEEL is a demonstration project funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education, with the aim of ensuring that students with disabilities receive a quality higher education. If you go to the Resources page, you can find an annotated bibliography of the research on college writers with LD from the past ten years.
