Why do community service?
|
|
It's a great way to meet other student-athletes! |
|
|
You can improve your speaking skills! |
|
|
You make a HUGE difference in the life of a child! |
|
|
It looks great on your resume and may make a difference if you get the job! |
Afraid to go out and speak?
We can help. Here is our training manual Get
Comfortable With Public Speaking! It should help tremendously with
tips on what to say and how to say it! For other tips see Phoebe Chalk in the
Hall of Champions..
THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR'S CUP FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE
The 2005 Winner: Women's Gymnastics
The team with the most community service hours at the end of the year (hours per member) will win the team community service award. Get your team involved and keep track to see how you are doing!
The Smith Project Speakers' Bureau
and other community service functions are sent out on an e-mail list.. You need to fill out
a form to let Phoebe know your availability and the population with whom
you would most like to speak, or the organization for whom you would like
to volunteer! If you're not on the e-mail list, see Gretchen today to get on!
It's a lot of fun, you can improve your speaking skills,
add to your resume and impact the lives of the children in Tucson tremendously!
