About Us
Our group focuses primarily on physical, chemical, and biological processes influencing the transport and fate of contaminants in subsurface environments. Our research approach integrates experimentally based investigations with the development and use of mechanistic mathematical models. We are also interested in the development and evaluation of innovative methods for characterization and remediation of subsurface contamination, and the evaluation of risks posed to human health by contamination. We employ a multidisciplinary approach to research by integrating aspects various scientific fields to investigate fluid flow and solute transport at a multitude of scales from the pore scale to the field scale. Our research program has been developed to improve our understanding of processes that impact transport and limit remediation of contaminants in order to improve environmental quality and restore contaminated systems.
