My professional interests include the examination of teachers as researchers (What tools must be available to foreign language teachers in order to investigate topics relevant to their individual classroom situations? How should such classroom research be designed?), the education and training of pre-service foreign language teachers (What specific needs must be addressed to better prepare foreign language teachers before entering the classroom?), and the exploration of learning styles in the foreign language curriculum (What are the connections between learning styles and the study of foreign languages? How can the identification of students' learning styles aid students as well as teachers in identifying appropriate foreign language instructional strategies?).
