In discussing digital inclusion we explored the potential contribution of libraries to digital inclusion for Native American and Latino Communities. Practical workshop utilizing the NTIA Digital Nation report and the National Broadband map. For a detailed description of our workshop you can visit the AZLA 2011 page here and click on Program Descriptions. To learn more about how you can research broadband in your area visit the National Broadband plan webpage . And feel free to contact me if you have any questions! This presentation was created in collaboration with Richard Chabran, Sarah Tankersley, Nancy Godoy and Sandy Littletree. All are amazing and dedicated library information professionals and I look forward to working with them again.
June 2011 ~ Innovative Program Design: Developing a Dynamic Fundraising Campaign
Program Development workshop for staff of the Lohse Family YMCA. Using an interactive and creative approach based on the IDEO method I facilitated the development of the 2012 Annual Support Campaign. The campaign subsequently exceeded the goal of $81,000. This victory was an 18% increase from the 2010 goal of $68,500. Funds from the annual support campaign benefit members of Y programs including child care, health and wellness for all ages, water safety/swimming lessons and summer day camps.

Knowledge River educates library and information professionals to serve and represent Latino and Native American cultural communities.
Graduate Projects
During graduate school extracurricular projects included my role as President of the Society of American Archivists UA Chapter and Vice President of REFORMA-Tucson. For an example of my basic website design and projects as president of the UASAA please visit the UASAA website. The REFORMA-Tucson chapter works to promote literacy, library materials and services for Latinos and the Spanish speaking communities. We also be collaborated with the Knowledge River Alumni Association on the 10th Anniversary KR reunion during the UA Homecoming weekend.I am glad to have been part of two great teams! I am still an active member of REFORMA, SAA, and other archives, library and history related professional organizations.
Business Cards I designed these cards for Knowledge River students utilizing the Knowledge River logo, Knowledge River purpose statement and of course the talented skills of our printer WestPress. The purpose was to give KR students a recognized and shared brand image. These were designed with the 2010-2011 logo. The new cards use my design and statement along with a new logo. Card Front Card Back. You can see the new logo designed by a KR Alum (and friend of mine!) at the KR website.
On the Web
The template for this website was created in IRLS 504 during the summer of 2010. (Ugh -please don't click this link!). IRLS 504 is fondly referred to by alumni and others as the 'boot camp' of the SIRLS program here at the UA. It is a 7 day intensive residential week of study in preparation for the program. (And a lot of work and fun to be had!)
The UASAA website created for our SAA Student Chapter.
The Code of Ethics website I created for a fictitious 'zine archive.
