This WorldCat list contains books that I personally found helpful during my time as a graduate student and beyond.  It includes books of wise counsel on procedural issues related to writing theses and dissertations, on how to plan your time in graduate school to best effect, on how to work with a graduate advisor and to find members for a committee, as well as on other practical matters related to getting through and succeeding in graduate school.
