ASSIGNMENT:
Bring to class your essay draft. Try to have at least eight pages
completed; if you haven't begun or finished a particular section,
describe (in the draft) what you will do in that section so that your
readers will understand where you plan to go with your argument. If you wish to use an article
(or
book chapter, etc.) that is NOT featured in the e-reserve collection
and that I have NOT already seen, you must
include a photocopy of the document(s) along with your draft.
Your draft should include correctly formatted MLA-style citations and a works cited page. Please DO NOT use
a cover sheet.
As always, double-space your text, and use 1" margins all around. Click
here
for an example of the MLA-style essay format. If
you have questions, please email me.
In class on Friday you will exchange essays with another student
in the class. You will be given specific sets of questions for use in
evaluating your peer's essay, and you will read the essay through
multiple times, once for each set of questions. At the end of the class
period, you will receive your peer's evaluation of your essay, along
with a blank set of questions for your own use in evaluating your essay
outside of class. Performing the evaluation of a peer's essay will
count as a quiz grade (full credit).
