Me now

Me

I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington.  As a kid I was both ‘the princess’ and ‘the tomboy’.   Not a lot has changed since then.

I attended Lewis and Clark High School, followed by Washington State University for undergraduate training and The University of Texas at Austin for grad school.  I currently live in Tucson, AZ.

Family

My parents are both recently retired; my dad from a contracting position at Fairchild AFB and as a Coast Guard reservist and my mom as a registered nurse.  They will soon be splitting their time between their place on the Pend Orielle river and their new house in Green Valley, AZ.  My older brother, Mark, received his M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering and is a Captain in the Air Force.  His current assignment is at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM.

Backpacking

I started backpacking with my family in 2004.  Thus far, I have been to the Bitterroot Mts. of NW Montana twice (Heart Lake Trail in 2004 & Goose Creek Trail in 2005), the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness in Southern Montana in 2006, Eagle Cap in NE Oregon in 2007, the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona (South Kaibab and Bright Angel Trails) and most recently, Jewel Lake Basin just outside of Bigfork, Montana.

Heroes

Mamie Van Doren is one of the more notable ‘blonde bombshells’ from the 1950’s.  Her notoriety is obtained not by her ‘successes’ in movies, but for her longevity.  Mamie is now well into her 70’s (she was born in 1931), yet continues to model (often in the nude).  It is truly AMAZING!
