Wildcats Head in to Gainesville, FL with a National Championship on their Minds

Winners of 7 of the last 8 Southwest Conference titles and 11 overall, the Wildcats are coming off a thrilling 10-9 come from behind victory over rival ASU in the conference title game. Seeking their first national title, the Wildcats boast a squad of experienced leaders and young talent. Senior attacker Alex Negronida will lead the Cats as their leading scorer. Along with seniors Alex Williams, Brett Krouskup, juniors Taylor Knowles, Sam Binkow, Rob Muirhead, and freshmen standouts Matt Goodenough and Dylan Davidson, the Wildcats are threats to score from all areas of the water. Seniors Michael Meier and Cameron Simmons lead the Cats relentless defense, while senior Evan Zaggy and freshman Justin Friedenthal will mind the net and lead the counter attack. Andrew Wolff, Jamie Clark, Carl Hertlein, and Donald Hodge round up this deep Arizona squad that heads into the swamp ready to bring a championship back home to the desert.

"Arizona Six" Named October 26 Southwest Division Co-Players of the Week

2009 Southwest Conference Champions

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The University of Arizona's Cameron Simmons, Taylor Knowles, Matt Goodenough, Sam Binkow, Alex Williams and Alex Negronida all scored in the fourth period to rally the Wildcats from a 7-4 deficit against Arizona State University to key Arizona to the division title and share the October 26 Southwest Division Player of the Week award.

The Wildcats defeated Arizona State 10-9 in the title game and earned the division's automatic bid to the 2009 National Collegiate Club Championship at the University of Florida.  The title marks Arizona's 11th Southwest Division crown and the program's seventh in the past eight seasons.

With a 10-9 Victory over ASU in Tempe, the Wildcats earn a trip to the 2009 Collegiate Club Championships in Gainesville, Florida.
