Revised Mar 19 2004
Fugu is University of Michigan graphical
secure file-transport software.
- Unlike Fetch, it requires that no SSH tunnel be set
up.
- It gives you local and remote directory windows for
drag-and-drop copying.
- You do not need to use SSH in a Terminal window to log in.
- It is MacOSX only.
Download
Fugu, install it, and start it.
Fugu displays a log-in window.
In the Connect to box enter the remote host like u.arizona.edu
For Username enter your
UA NetID.
If this is a host you will use often,
click the Add to Favorites button.
Click the Connect button.
You will be prompted for your password.
Fugu displays a window with
your local (Mac) files and your remote (U-System)
files. Note that the left side shows the icon Local Home with
local files listed below it, and the right/remote side is identified
with a Remote Home icon. File folders can be double-clicked to
list their contents. You can traverse directory structures by clicking
the Home icon to return to the top of that directory structure.
If you click on a file or directory,
you can click the Info icon to set permissions.
Use the New Folder icon to
create a local or remote directory.
Next time you start Fugu, you can
use the Connect to pulldown to choose from the list of recent
connections or the "globe" pulldown to choose from your list
of Favorites.
