About me...

This page mainly has information about my old life, working as a science editor at the University of Arizona and doing freelance web design--with occasional fun like travel (check out the Iceland link, more coming soon) and yoga. Now I'm a full-time grad student trying to learn all I can about Geography.

Web Design Projects

With nine years of experience, most of my work in web design involves educational and research projects. While I tend to focus on functional designs, with an emphasis on usability and accessibility, I also have the creative and graphic arts skills to tackle a variety of projects.

YogaOasis - Responsible for ongoing maintenance of this commercial website [not involveds din original design]

UA Global Change Minor Program - Simple website aimed at prospective students for this PhD program. [initial design 2004]

Climate Assessment for the Southwest - Involved in both design and content development of this research project website aimed at a general audience. Conducted usability testing to ensure the site structure and navigation met users' needs. [initial design in 2003]

Earth, Water, Wind and Fire - Collaborative project with other divisions at the University of Arizona. Most of the site's content is database driven. [initial desing 2002]

Iceland 2002 - Personal travel diary and photo archive. [initial design 2002]

Institute for the Study of Planet Earth - Responsible for design, creation, and maintenance of this large University web site. Content includes database-driven sections using Active Server Pages. [initial design in 2001]

Agricultural & Resource Economics - Responsible for design, creation, and maintenance of this 100+ page web site. Site uses a CGI script to generate a random "AREC Spotlight" each time the main page is reloaded. [design in 2000]

Personal Portfolio - Portfolio highlighting some of my web and software development projects. Created using Macromedia Flash.

Oblique - Website designed for a zine distro, using the customer's request for for a design motif based on the London Underground subway system [design in 2000]

Mindplay Educational Software - Designed two separate web sites for this software company. Site included interactive content, forms, and CGI scripting. Examples are of main page only, therefore links will not work. See also: K-12 site. [design in 1997]
