About
My name is Ben.
I'm studying math and computer science at the University of Arizona.
I like photography and other artsy stuff too.
=)
Well, I finally finished my amp, and it sounds great! It looks kind of rough, but that's ok. It was a great learning experience. Hopefully, I'll be building more soon with nicer materials like walnut and aluminum alloy. Also, I'll draw up some plans next time. The fact that I was wingin it made things a little more difficult =/
Well. Portland is great, infinitely better than Tucson. They've got public transportation, places to live downtown, and trees! I will definitely be trying to move there when I graduate. =)
Also, The Faint were amazing, as usual. The venue they played, The Crystal Ballroom, was also amazing.

I survived a trip to Puerto Peñasco, Mexico and made it back without a passport, but I'm quite sunburned and somewhat ill-feeling =(
I'm going to Portland, OR in the beginning of August to scope the place out. I'm excited at the prospect of moving somewhere moist and cool. Mmm, forest. I'm SO sick of Tucson Summers. Also, I'm going to be seing The Faint again while I'm in Oregon. =)

Wow, hello Internet, it's been a long time.
So, the Spring semester ended and it went pretty well. My CS minor is done, and I'm almost done with my math major. I went with my mom to Iowa at the end of May to visit her parents and brother. Apparently, we chose the perfect week to be in the Cedar Rapids area; we missed the storms and tornadoes by a few hours and the flooding by a week or so. whew.
When I got back from Iowa and started working again, another department at the U of A (the Lunar and Planetary Lab) had their website hacked ( http://news.cnet.com/8301-10784_3-9957275-7.html ). Being the curteous web developers that we are at OSCR, we decided to help them fix the blatant security holes which the contractors had left in their site.
As of now, I'm taking French and trying to speak lots of it with my step-mom while trying not to get sun-burnt at the pool. =)

That quote is a pretty good summation of the course. Ugh.

I'm hoping that I can save up enough money to go on a road trip this summer. I'd really like to drive up the west coast and look for a place to move after I graduate (like Portland). Also, a friend of mine will be doing research in Sacramento this summer, so I'd like to visit her. I just hope that gas prices don't rise too much more... =/
