POWER POINT CHAPTER 1

Introduction to PowerPoint: Presentations Made Easy

(Volume I, first chapter on the section with blue page number flags)

Do Knowledge Test K21 at the beginning of the class. Do Skill Test S21 “Powerpoint Chapter 1” toward the end of the class. Be sure to use S02 as the ID in the skill test.

1. Read pages 2 to 8

2. Do Hands-on Exercise 1: Introduction to PowerPoint, steps 1 to 8

a. Step 2: Skip, instead:

i. Obtain the Practice Files, from the J: disk. You can access the J: disk by double clicking on the ABE120 icon on your screen.

ii. The files you will need for all your POWER POINT assignments are located in the folder Exploring Power Point.

iii. Create an Exploring Power Point folder on your disk and copy the files to your disk using My Computer or Windows Explorer.

Remember if you are working on the hard drive of your assigned computer, you have to use disk H: instead of C:. If you are using a ZIP disk your disk will be E:, and if you are using a floppy disk your disk will be A:.

b. Step 9: Make sure you name is on the first slide instead of Robert Grauer and Maryann Barber, print the presentation as Handouts with 6 slides per page, and hand in the printout as part of your assignment 21.

3. Read pages 18 to 21

4. Do Hands-on Exercise 2: Creating a Presentation, steps 1 to 8

a. Step 9: Do not print at this time.

5. Read pages 30 and 31

6. Do Hands-on Exercise 3: Animating the Presentation, steps 1 to 6

a. Step 6: Make sure you name is on the first slide instead of Robert Grauer and Maryann Barber, print the presentation as Handouts with 6 slides per page, and hand in the printout as part of your assignment 21.

7. Do problem 3 on pages 42 and 43

a. Hand in your printouts (outline and handout 6 per page) as part of your assignment 21.

8. Staple and turn in your printouts. Use this sheet as cover adding your section number, name and computer number.
