My wife
is Annette Schiffer. We met on a blind date
on May 1, 1965, and have lived in marital bliss since December
22, 1968. She is the most caring, sexy, wise, and wonderful woman
I know. Annette is a college advisor, helping high school students
become acquainted with colleges, scholarships, and application
processes. She worked for eight years at Tucson High Magnet School,
where she founded the College and Career Center. She has also worked
at the Luz Academy, a charter school in Tucson, as well as Edison
High School in Alexandria, Virginia. She is currently at the Greater Washington
College Information Center, Washington, D.C. Her passion is to
help economically disadvantaged students find their way to college.
She loves animals, especially birds, and we enjoy bird-watching
together. |
Our oldest son is
Adam Joseph
Schiffer (right in the picture below), who was born on October
2, 1973 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He received his Ph.D. in political
science at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 2003.
Adam's specialty is American Studies, especially the interaction
of politics and the media. He is, among other things, an avid
baseball and basketball fan, lover of popular music, and an awesome
writer. Adam is Assistant Professor of Political Science at TCU,
Fort Worth, Texas. He takes teaching far more seriously than his
old man.

Our second
son is Jeremy Alan (center-right
in the picture). He is the only native Tucsonan in the family,
born on October 31, 1977. Jeremy graduated from Carleton College
in 1999, where he majored in anthropology-sociology. Until summer
2004, he was the computer security specialist at Columbia University
in New York City. He attended Fordham
University law school in Manhattan, receiving his degree in 2007. He is currently an associate attorney at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld, in Washington, D.C., specializing in energy, land use, and environment. Jeremy has many interests, including
computers, biking and hiking, and playing the clarinet. |
