Course Description: Economics 479 is an essential part of the Economics Department's undergraduate programs. It's a one-credit course which you must take three times in order to earn an economics degree. The objective of the three-course program is to help you become a better writer than you are now.
The way to become a better writer is to write. Therefore the course will consist of several writing assignments and a final exam, nothing more. We will rarely meet as a class. Assignments will be communicated by email and via the course website. Completed assignments will be submitted via email and then returned to you via email with the instructor's comments and suggestions.
Final Exam: Friday, December 15, 2:00 - 4:00.
Grading: The final exam will comprise 40% of your course grade. The remaining 60% will be determined by your performance on the writing assignments over the course of the semester.
Ground Rules: Ground Rules for Economics 479 Assignments provides some guidelines for writing and describes the mechanics of submitting assignments.
