An informal weekly seminar is held in the lab to discuss topics in computational intelligence and visualization. The "CIVL Discourse" provides us with an opportunity to build community in the laboratory, exchange ideas, and help each other. Topics are not decided much more than a week in advance and everyone in the lab has an opportunity to present to the group at least once a semester.

Topics for Fall semester 1999 have been:

Oct 6 Robert Casavant, Ph.D. candidate Geosciences: White City Penn Gas Field in SE New Mexico - Visualizing surface expressions of deep structures
Oct 13 Vinton Buffenmyer, MS candidate, G EN: Seismic Crew Noise Identification Using Neural Networks
