We
collected and analyzed ERPs associated with viewing Mooney faces to
investigate the neural synchrony hypothesis of visual binding. Our initial
experiments attempted to replicate previously reported EEG results from a
similar experiment that others had taken to support the neural synchrony
hypothesis. In our replication, we found that recording and analysis
artifacts may have contaminated the previous results (Trujillo, Peterson, Kaszniak, & Allen, 2005). Follow-up experiments that removed the artifacts
are being analyzed.
