About Me

jeffsallaz

I'm a professional sociologist specializing in the study of work, economic sociology, political sociology, deviance, and social theory.

I'm also an ethnographer, which means I study people in terms of how they experience their everday lives (often by living and working among them).

My research projects thus far have involved stints as an auto assembly worker, a casino croupier, and a corporate marketer. Currently I'm finishing a book about the global diffusion of Vegas-style gambling industries (forthcoming from the University of California Press).
