| Vietnamese Flag Day, a memorial ceremony
for the anniversary of the communist takeover of Vietnam, took place
at the Eden Center, a major Vietnamese shopping district in Arlington.

| Vietnamese Via Ba ceremony, members
of the Vietnamese, Thai and Lao communities come together for a blessing
ceremony in honor of the Confuscious goddess Ba Chua-Xu Thanh-Mau.
People bring food, such as roast pig and rice cakes, flowers, and
arrange the alter with these and a central painting of the goddess.
Dances are performed, prayers said, and a meal is shared. |
