Research Assistant. Supervisor: Dr. Bai-Chuang Shyu

        Conducting fMRI experiments to study the neural mechanism of pain.

        Operating the whole fMRI procedures independently, processing data, and writing report.

        Developed a novel method of direct brain electrical stimulation for fMRI study.

        Animal operation.

        Applying immunohistochemical and electrophysiological methods to study pain.

 

Jan. 1999 - June 1999      National Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, Taipei, Taiwan

Research Assistant. Supervisor: Dr. Hung-Ieng Chen

        Research project: National Survey of Recreation and Leisure

        Consulted on the overall questionnaire design.

        Analyzed more than 15,000 questionnaires collected from 23 counties of Taiwan.

        Transformed data by Visual Basic programming and Composed report.

        Research project: Processing Level of Implicit Chinese Emotional Stimuli

        Collected Chinese emotional words.

        Programmed for displaying subliminal stimuli (by random dots masking), and recording responses and reaction time.

        Searched literature, administrated experiments, analyzed data, and wrote reports.

        Psychological counseling for Army soldiers (including dealing with several suicide and acute psychosis cases), and group therapy.

        Established and administered the mental health promotion projects for military.
