The University of Arizona hosted the 2nd
annual ACSS conference on January 11th-12th,
2008. The conference
(co-organized by U of A and ASU) was a two day event this year.
Invited
speakers included Doctors Kate Bunton, Tom Christensen, Randy Diehl, Michael
Dorman, Alex Francis, Lori Holt, Julie Liss, Andrew Lotto, Bob Lutfi, Brad
Story, and Bill Yost.
Discussion
topics included Probabilistic Perception & Cue Weighting, Should we Pay
Attention to Attention? Relating Speech Perception to Spoken Language, as
well as a Motor Theory debate.

The University of Arizona hosted the first ever ACSS
conference on January 8th.
The conference (co-organized by U of A and ASU) was a one day event,
from 9:30am until 5:00pm consisting of a series of nine 30-minute talks.
Invited
speakers discussed relationships between speech perception and production,
statistical learning, models of lexical access, cochlear implants, and
electrophysiology.
